Computer Programmer/Data & Information Analyst – Collingwood, Ontario

Our company is growing, and as a result, we are adding a new part-time/co-op or recent graduate role of Computer Programmer/Data & Information Analyst to the team.

This role is based out of our Collingwood location at 20 Stewart Road.

Hours of Work: This role offers some flexibility for the ideal candidate—it can be the hours outlined as part of an educational institution’s requirement for a co-op student or a recent graduate who has the ability to work from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Hourly Rate: $23 – $32 per hour

Hourly rate will be based on level of experience and knowledge for both co-op and a recent graduate.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Collaborating with the team to improve existing desktop applications in terms of efficiency and accuracy
  • Participating in the design, development, and testing of new software solutions
  • Assisting in debugging and troubleshooting application issues
  • Keeping up with industry trends and best practices related to data management and software development
  • Collecting data from various sources and inputting it into databases
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of data during the entry process
  • Standardizing data formats and structures to ensure consistency, ease of analysis, and correct implementation into software applications
  • Conducting data quality checks to identify and resolve issues

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

  • Working toward a degree; a recent graduate in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Experience and familiarization with software development (mainly desktop applications), data management, information management, and programming
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook (Advanced Excel skills are a must)
  • Knowledge of C#, GitHub and Visual Studio Community is a must for this role
  • Knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Azure would be considered assets
  • An understanding of cybersecurity and best security practices would be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of electronics and familiarity with manufacturing environments would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • A professional and courteous demeanour and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Candidates must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada under relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
